Building Mathematics Education Capacity (BMEC) is the website of a group of Brisbane mathematics-education researchers who collaborate to build the capacity of underachieving students with respect to mathematics. It contains information (reports and resources) on projects that the group have undertaken in many centres across Queensland, mainly in Australian Indigenous communities, to enhance the learning of mathematics. These are the projects that the group call Deadly Maths.
The members of the group, in alphabetical order, are Dr Annette Baturo and Professor Tom Cooper from Queensland University of Technology (Kelvin Grove Campus), Dr Chris Matthews from Griffith University (Nathan Campus), and Professor Elizabeth Warren from Australian Catholic University (McAuley Campus).
